Lander Musicians Jazz Up the Holiday Season, Dec. 3

Music written by artists such as Michael Philip Mossman, Wynton Marsalis and Oscar Hammerstein represent just a few of the works to be featured in Lander University’s upcoming Jazz Ensemble Concert. The concert will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 8 p.m. in Lander’s Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center Auditorium. Under the direction of Dr. Robert Gardiner, Lander associate professor of music, the Jazz Ensemble is made up of a mixture of Lander students and Greenwood community members. The ensemble will be joined by Lander vocalist Tanisha Tolliver of Greer and guest soloist and Swingin' Medallion Shawn McElrath. The Jazz Ensemble performance is sponsored by Dex, publisher of the Embarq Yellow Pages. Admission for the concert is free. For information, call the Fine Arts box office at 864-388-8800.
