After getting off to a great start, the Equestrian team at Lander is looking forward to a new semester.  Although there is still work to be finished at the new equestrian center, the team has started their riding lessons and team meetings.  For many on the team, riding has become an outlet from school and also an educational experience.   Ellison Poston, president of the Equestrian team, tells why she is a member. "The equestrian team is wonderful because I am able to ride competitively in college and make great friends on the team. I'm able to be around people who are a lot like me and love doing the same thing that I do. Riding horses is an unbelievable stress reliever and it is neat to watch all the other girls on the team learn and grow in their riding."  Poston has been riding for 13 years and competes in both Hunter Seat Riding and Jumping.  The equestrian center, located at the Burton Center, also works in collaboration with the therapeutic riding center.
